Rafode serves some of the most impoverished and underserved communities in the southwestern part of Kenya. In addition to micro-business loans, Rafode provides loans for household solar panels and high-efficiency cookstoves, both of which are improving the health, wellness, and productivity of Rafode borrowers. Rafode has a strong focus on serving women, with women consistently representing around 70% of borrowers.
Rafode also has an internal practice of regularly evaluating its culture, practices, and products to promote increased participation of women.
